I am extremely pleased to share with you the wondrous news that THE DREAMSTERS - our half-hour Shushybye series designed for preschoolers - will make its television debut with a special one-hour preview on Mother's Day Sunday May 8 in prime time from 8-9:00pm on KCET-TV, public media for Southern and Central California.   The hour special will then make its way to public television stations across the country in preparation for the launch of THE DREAMSTERS half-hour series which enters production this summer. 

Comcast subscribers can also download specially-produced DREAMSTER programming on Comcast Video On Demand.  Plus, DREAMSTER music videos will soon be regularly offered on the popular KidzBop Channel!

We'll be celebrating the Southern California premiere of THE DREAMSTERS on KCET-TV with a gala live concert event to take place Saturday April 30 at the House of Blues on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.  The day-long event will also feature  an array of arts & crafts fun and free refreshments for the children (a lunch menu will also be available for the adults).  Tickets are only $30 dollars per family of five and are now available via www.KCET.org or Ticketmaster.  Topping of the event is our hour-long concert featuring Michael North and The Dreamsters performing everyone's favorite Shushybye hits - along with the introduction of awesome rock, pop, jazz, blues, Latin and country songs I've composed expressly for THE DREAMSTERS television series.  MC'ing the concert is none other than rock radio legend Charlie Tuna from K-EARTH 101 and host of his own hugely popular nationally syndicated CBS Radio show.  And I'm thrilled to share that Ron Dante - famed lead singer of The Archies - will kick off the concert with what has become a globally-renowned rock 'n roll anthem, SUGAR SUGAR (and we'll most certainly want the audience to join in!!).  Ron will be backed by the live Shushybye Band.  This is a must-not-miss family event - we hope to see all our L.A. Shushy fans there!!! Be sure to get your tickets quickly - this is a family concert extravaganza you and yours will remember for a long time to come!

A live-action musical format for preschoolers and their families, THE DREAMSTERS focuses on enriching early learning experiences, particularly inspiring children to develop a love of art, dance, music and storytelling. The Dreamsters is being developed in collaboration with a diverse panel of renowned educational advisors.

Featuring popular children’s singer Michael North, THE DREAMSTERS stars a group of colorful ‘Dreamster’ characters that create dreams based on children’s ‘Dream Wishes.’  The show also features original songs performed by a number of guest music artists, including Brian Setzer (Brian Setzer Orchestra, The Stray Cats); Davy Jones (The Monkees); Tommy James (Tommy James and the Shondelles); Steve Lawrence (of Steve and Edie fame); and Ron Dante (The Archies), among other renowned artists. 

PJ THE DJ, STARBRIGHT and SNORE are the main ‘Dreamsters’ who work at The Dreamery, a dream-making studio lot that encompasses several soundstages and departments for Dream Design, Dream Props, Dream Effects, Music and Wardrobe – all dedicated to making dreams for preschoolers.  The complex also boasts its own main library, health and fitness center, recreation area (Pillow Park) and school where budding Dreamsters learn the art of creating dreams.  The on-campus radio station (MOON-FM) plays all the Dreamery hits – original songs that cover the gamut from rock and pop to R&B, Jazz, Latin and Country performed by such ‘performers’ as Fred Asleep, The Sleeptones, The Bed Bugs and Bay B. King, among others. 

PJ THE DJ has the morning shift on the Dreamery’s #1 radio station MOON-FM, while legendary rock Los Angeles radio personality Charlie Tuna has afternoon drive (portraying the character Charlie Luna).  PJ also emcee’s the nightly dance at Pillow Park where the Dreamsters gather to boogie to their favorite bands.

Executive Producers of The Dreamsters are creator/songwriter Steve Syatt, Mike Medavoy, Arnold Messer and David Cooper.

And for our awsome fans of SHUSHYBYE BABY, we are delighted and excited to unveil the news that we'll soon be joining with the ultra-cool team at BabyFirstTV to produce all-new episodes of what has become the world's most beloved original dream-themed series for babies and toddlers.  Since 2006, it has been our joy to be associated with this extraordinary child development channel.  Words can hardly express how deeply we appreciate the opportunity to be a part of BabyFirstTV - and how much we appreciate hearing from BabyFirstTV viewers each and every day regarding their own family's Shushybye experiences.  I encourage everyone everywhere to make BabyFirstTV a part of your family's viewing!  (I'm also quite proud that the BabyFirstTV song I wrote and Michael North sings has reached over 2.5 million 'Views' on You Tube - now that's impressive!!

I am pleased to share that the Shushybye plush dolls are on their way - and will be ready for delivery by the end of February! These are the original 16" plush dolls of SNOOZLES, DOZIE and ZEEZ that have been brought home by thousands of families throughout the world.  We have begun accepting your emails to place on our Shushy Doll reservation List - and the list itself is growing daily!  Only a limited quantity will be available - so we (humbly) urge you to email us at info@shushybye.com to place your family's name on the reservation list before (once again!) all the doll sets are spoken for!

In other Shushy news...

On Valentine's day (Monday, February 14) we will be premiering content from our all-new upcoming half-hour television series THE DREAMSTERS on our Shushybye Facebook page.  We will have several links to (incredible) music videos featuring Michael North and The Dreamsters (PJ THE DJ, STARBRIGHT and SNORE) along with vignettes starring the Dreamsters and CAPTAIN JOHN YAWN.  THE DREAMSTERS is created especially for preschoolers-1st graders, and its entire thrust is to help inspire and empower children to develop their imaginations and creativity skills - as well as inspiring a love for the arts (music, art, books, dance, painting and sculpture - the whole shebang!).  The Dreamsters make dreams for children in a big movie studio lot located in Nap Valley, Shushybye called THE DREAMERY which is :where creativity rules!'.  On Valentine's Day, we are excited to take you and your family to THE DREAMERY for a visit.  The links will be up for the who day.

Lots of folks have been asking me what it was like to watch as awesome recording artists STEVE LAWRENCE, DAVY JONES (of The Monkees) and RON DANTE (of The Archies) recorded my Shushy songs.   We conducted the recording session with all three artists in a state-of-the-art stunning recording studio in Las Vegas (called Odds On Recording).  All I can say is..I am still on a cloud (Shushybye cloud) from this session.  The artists were incredible, and watching them perform their respective Shushy songs through the glass looking into the studio was unbelievable.  Davy Jones sings a new Dreamery song called 'There's A Star'; Ron Dante sings another new Dreamery song called 'MOON-FM'; and Steve Lawrence swings with his rendition of 'Beyond the Stars and Past the Moon.'  And, yes - video of these sessions will also be up and available for view on February 14!

Still to come...Tommy James (Tommy James and the Shondelles) singing 'Feels Like Magic' which he'll be recording in the next week. And, of course, our theme song for THE DREAMSTERS is performed by rockabilly genius Brian Setzer.  Cool!

As a (major) radio fan, I am very excited to share that legendary rock radio personality CHARLIE TUNA appears as MOON-FM rock jock CHARLIE LUNA.  PJ THE DJ's shift is in morning drive, while Charlie takes afternoon drive.    Charlie's has one of the most distinguished voices in radio - and to add his brllliance to MOON-FM is nothing short of awesome!

Dear Shushy and Dreamster Fans,

On behalf of our phenomenal singer Michael North, esteemed choreographer Mat Davies, all-seeing and all-knowing director Lindley Mayer, the marvelous Frank Caruso and team of set designers and, of course, our incredibly talented cast of Shushy and Dreamster dancers, it is my thrill to express our appreciation to the wondrous audiences that came out for The Shushybye Holiday Musical at the Odyssey Theatre in West Los Angeles on Saturday December 4.  We all had such an amazing time on Saturday - completely fueled by the enthusiasm and warmth of our awesome audiences!  What a wondrous way to usher in the absolute best time of the year - the holiday season!

Speaking of the holidays, we are proud to unveil our first-ever Christmas music CD, A Shushybye Christmas.   The CD features 11 tracks, including "All I Want Is To Spend Christmas With You," which is a fast rocker with a special message; "When the Sun Comes Up," a joyous gospel-style song brilliantly performed by our world-class Shushybye Dream Band musicians and magnificently sung by Michael North, pulling inspiration from the 5 Blind Boys from Alabama; "Dreams from the Bible," a rock tune that underscores how dreams and visions played a critical role in the stories of many of our most beloved heroes of the Bible; "There's A Star," the first-ever Dreamery lullabye; "As For Me and My House (We Serve the Lord)," a rocker that is based on my favorite biblical passage (and, interestingly, this happens to be Michael favorite passage as well!); "This Goodnight Lullabye," which is Michael at his very best performing a doo-wop style '50's-style tune guaranteed to get your fingers snapping;  "My Newest Best Friend," a pop tune that is sure to become a family holiday favorite; and "I Want To Thank You," which you'll be hearing in our new DREAMERY TV series and carries a message we look forward to children embracing when they hear the song!  The CD also presents my own personal favorite Shushy song, "A Night Time Prayer" which we oftentimes perform in concerts.  Shushy hits "Feels Like Magic" and "A Shushybye Lullabye" round out the holiday good feelings!

For everyone working with Shushybye and The Dreamery, it is all very much a true labor of love - and our TV show editors, director Karolyn and producer Ivan are hard at work this month editing all the material shot over the past several weeks for our new DREAMERY television series.  Included inside the new TV series are 27 magical-looking music videos that I can hardly wait for you to see (it won't be too long now!!).  The shows, of course, boast our new Dreamery characters PJ THE DJ, STARBRIGHT, SNORE and CAPTAIN JOHN YAWN  (who made their public debuts at our recent holiday musical to audience acclaim!), as well as all-new storylines and all-new songs in a wide variety of music styles.

For those of you following Shushybye and Dreamery developments, you may already be aware how proud we are to welcome rock legend, the one and only Brian Setzer, who performs our DREAMERY TV series rockabilly-style theme song.  In addition to the genius of Brian Setzer, there's lots more musical surprises we'll be sharing with you soon (major artists who will be performing new Shushy and Dreamery songs  alongside our very own maestro Michael North especially for our new TV series).

How I wish you could have been there!

We wrapped up production of 26 songs yesterday at Hollywood Center Studios with Michael North and our fun and colorful new Dreamster characters PJ THE DJ, STARBRIGHT and SNORE. The majority of the songs are new - and I can't wait for you to see the music videos. In fact, we will be debuting many of them on our own website (www.shushybye.com) in November before they begin airing on television.

For those of you in the Los Angeles area, we are thrilled to be debuting some of the new Shushybye songs at our upcoming musical at the Odyssey Theatre on Saturday December 4. I'm also extremely excited about this event, which will boast seven characters - SNOOZLES, DOZIE, ZEEZ, PJ THE DJ, STARBRIGHT, SNORE and CAPTAIN JOHN YAWN -- along with our awesome Shushybye singer Michael North and the band. The musical takes place inside a SOUND STAGE at THE DREAMERY, which is the dream-making studio lot located in Shushybye and run by fun and creativity-loving Dreamsters. The musical features 17 songs - your Shushybye favorites and debut tunes - including the Shushybye Christmas song ("All I Want Is To Spend Christmas With You"). I am pleased and proud to advise that Santa has cleared his schedule to join us (he shared that the Shushy Christmas song is one of personal favorites). We look forward to your family joining us for the musical as well! On the broadcast front, our Dreamster company - headed up by mega-move producer Mike Medavoy - has forged a co-production association with one of the most prestigious children's broadcasters in all TV for THE DREAMERY half-hour television series. I'll have the grand opportunity of unveiling all the news with you very shortly.

We are producing a DREAMERY soundtrack music CD to accompany the debut of the series that will present songs performed by our very own Michael North, along with a number of iconic artists such as Brian Setzer (who sings THE DREAMERY theme song). The CD is being produced by legendary rocker-turned-acclaimed-record producer Peter Asher and engineered and mixed by Geoff Emerick, the legendray engineer of The Beatles Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club, Revolver and Abby Road albums!!!! (You can only imagine what goes through my mind when I contemplate these developments!).

There's one more development I can now officially share with you! THE DREAMSTERS dolls are on their way! PJ THE DJ, STARBRIGHT and SNORE 16" plush dolls will be available Spring 2011. These absolutely adorable dolls will bring lots of joy and imagination to your preschooler. Welcome to the wondrous world of THE DREAMERY! Located high in the clouds, it is here at the Dreamery where Dreamsters make dreams for preschoolers everywhere! The Dreamery resembles a movie studio with lots of soundstages and departments for Dream-Designing, Props, Wardrobe and Hair & Make Up. My own personal favorite is (of course) the Music Department, where songs are written and recorded as the soundtrack for children's dreams. Many of the songs are performed by Michael North and The Dreamsters Band, while others are recorded by such popular Dreamery artists as Doo-Wop group The Sleeptones, big band jazz singer and dancer Fred Asleep and blues artist Bay B. King.

We're excited to share that many of the celebrated recording artists also perform Dreamery songs - such as awesome rock 'n roller Brian Setzer who delivers rousing lead vocals on The Dreamery Theme Song (and lays down some of the most incredible rhythm and lead guitar you've ever heard!!). Co-written by Dreamery creator Steve Syatt and Brian Setzer, The Dreamery Theme Song will make its debut very shortly on the Shushybye Facebook Page (we invite you to check the page out!).

Three of The Dreamery's star dream-making Dreamsters are PJ THE DJ, STARBRIGHT and SNORE (pictured above). When the Dreamsters are done producing their dreams (based on Dream Wishes from children), the Dream Reels are loaded up onto the mighty Dream Ship commanded by Captain John Yawn. A large Dreamster with a flowing red beard, Captain Yawn loves to sing his very own theme song as he travels the stars to bring dreams to sleeping children. (We'll be debuting the theme song on our Shushybye Facebook page soon!).

Before he begins his dream-making shift at The Dreamery, PJ THE DJ is morning on-air personality for radio station MOON-FM (which is the Dreamsters' favorite radio station). PJ spins all the top hits, and even has in-studio celebrity guests, such as Captain John Yawn and Wendy Winks who, along with her large family (the 40 Winks) run the Dreamery Library. Then there's STARBRIGHT, a sweet and caring Dreamster who enjoys handing out flowers to everyone she meets. She also says 'groovy' alot. We're also pleased to introduce you to SNORE, the deeply intellectual, hip bongo-playing Dreamster who always speaks in beat poetry, accentuates his comments with taps on his ever-present bongos - and calls everyone "Daddy-O.

The Dreamsters will be starring in an all-new globally-televised TV show that will be having sneak previews later this year on Comcast Video On Demand, as well as lots of exclusive bring -'em-home DVD's - from live concerts featuring Michael North and The Dreamsters Band to a collection of educational DVD releases entitled 'Dreamery School.' There will even be Dreamster fitness DVD's for preschoolers featuring America's Personal Trainer, the one and only Tony Little!!

Music plays a huge role in The Dreamery - and we're especially excited to be touring Michael North and the Dreamster Band throughout the US, Canada and Mexico.

Michael, the band, the Shushies and I have had such an awesome time performing our Shushybye Dream Band concerts in Washington DC, Philadelphia, NYC, Chicago and Albany as part of our Summer Dreamin Tour that I can hardly find the words to express our joy!

Now, we set our sights on the holiday season!

Our live tour manager John Waldman of Great Knight Productions (http://www.greatknightproductions.com/) is busy with final preparations - and we look forward to announcing Winter Dreamin' 2010 in just a matter of a few weeks.

A few thanks are in order...

Kenny Curtis, morning personality on SIRIUS/XM Radio's KIDS PLACE LIVE (pictured above with yours truly) did a wondrous job serving as emcee for our concerts in Washington DC at Jammin' Java and Chicago at A Taste of Chicago - and we look forward to coralling him for our holiday concerts, if we can. Then there are the many fine folks from each of the venues and events that made our time in each city a most memorable one (and helped to make each performance flawless and fun - even my rhythm guitar playing sounded pretty good!).

I also want to extend my thanks to our amazing musicians (keyboardist Michiko, electric bassist Pee Wee, lead guitarist Steve and master of the drums Glenn), our talented Shushy dancers and, of course, the best singer in children's music, Michael North.

But most of all, our thanks goes to the many Shushy families that came out to join us. It was especially fun meeting with fans that have been corresponding with us through the months.

In other Shushy music news, a major globally-renowned rock star has just finished recording the theme song to our all-new half-hour series, which we are excited to formally announce shortly. I had the great pleasure of co-writing the song with this extraordinary artist - and we'll be sharing all the specifics with our Shushy fans very soon. Several major rock stars will be joining Michael to perform our new Shushy songs for the show!

In September, three new Shushies will be making their debut on our website - PJ the DJ (the morning personality on Shushybye's #1 radio station, MOON-FM); Starbright (a highly creative dream-maker who also volunteers her time at the Shushybye Hospital as a candystriper) and Snore (a bongo-playing poet).

Finally, Shushybye will be celebrating Christmas in August as we give away 50 copies of our holiday storybook/audio CD "Shushybye: Where Is Christmas" to our Shushy fans - details coming up at the start of the month.

I wanted to take this moment to express our heartiest appreciation to the many families that joined with us for the opening concerts of the Shushybye Dream Band's Summer Dreanin' 2010 Tour in Washington DC and the Bronx Zoo.

Michael, the band, the Shushies and I had a memorable time with all of the awesome families that came out for our concerts at Jammin' Java in Washington DC and at the Bronx Zoo (where one gracious family drove all the way from Boston and another from Connecticut!).

Jammin' Java is such a perfect venue for all ages, and the staff is ultra kind - it's no wonder why this landmark music destination keeps garnering rave reviews and awards for excellence each year. The full Shushybye band was on hand for the concert, along with KIDS PLACE LIVE morning personality Kenny Curtis who emcee'd the show (and brought along his wicked brand of humor). For the first time in concert, magnificent Michael North started what is sure to be a concert trend: At the close of The Shushybye Theme Song, Michael had all us musicians stop playing - and had the audience singing the "Oh My My Shushybye" chorus acapella...then he brought back the band to play along while the audience sand for a rousing close. As the songwriter (and the band's rhythm guitar player), it was amazing for me to watch as this all unfolded - I wish I had the words!

At the Bronx Zoo, it was Michael, the Shushies, lead guitarist extraordinaire Steve Gregory and me (on rhythm guitar) performing two shows. But the stars really were the audience members - children and adults alike! Both performances brought Shushy fans of all ages, with many of the little ones bringing along their Shushybye dolls. As in Washington DC, many of the audience members sang along with Michael and the music moved virtually all of the children to get up and boogie. By the way, if you've never been to the Bronx Zoo, may I recommend this is something you have to do - it is mindbogglingly beautiful. To play at this very special venue is something we will always remember. Finally, our heartfelt thanks also goes to the Zoo's terrific staff whose work ensured smooth productions every step of the way.

Now its on to Philadelphia for the World Cafe on Saturday June 19 (make sure you grab advance tickets!) then to Chicago for A Taste of Chicago on June 25 and 26 (one show each day).

I'm pleased to share that our awe-inspiring tour manager John Waldman of Great Knight Productions (www.greatknightproductions.com) added our newest concert event for the Summer Dreamin' Tour - the very cool GE Kids Day in Albany taking place on Sunday July 18 (The Shushybye Dream Band will be the featured children's act!).
